choc lamb massacre

me went, me saw, me likey!

Uncle Yew Tiong Hu came back from Melbourne and gave each family of his Church Cell Group a box of…

DSC00267Why the Lamb?

DSC00269MILK CHOCOLATE EASTER LAMB!!!
and why is it half eaten?
because my bugger of a younger brother, Mark ATE the damn lamb before i could even take a picture of it!
merrrrrrh!

DSC00268and mom was laughing at how Mark ate the head and ass of the lamb and left the rest to me.
sheeesh lol
but really, that piece of choc was chocolate sculptured into a complete likeness of a lamb. the details were very well done on all sides. even the grass had details to it heh

stco marching band…

me went, me saw, me uhhh…

came across my highschool (S.M.K. Saint Columba)’s marching brass band when visited Parkson’s new wing after my church’s Family Sports Day.

DSC00141
still the same nothing’s changed much, even back then during my time

DSC00146DSC00147DSC00144 DSC00145DSC00142
expectantly, they play the songs i used to play back then
and the songs i played back then was REALLLY old already when i first joined the band. so yeah…

DSC00143
but hey, at least they’ve bought new percussion instruments which honestly… they don’t know how to fully utilize.
they’ve got that Multi Bass Drum for almost 4 years now and they’re still playing simple one-beats.
”COME BACK AND HELP THEM LA! TEACH THEM!”
if i knew squat abt Multi-Bass then, i have to say that i still know SQUAT abt Multi-Bass now (interested no more).
and man, the Hi-Tensions! they’re in shit condition! damn kesian la the Hi-Ten i used to play back then :/
THERE’S A FRIGGIN HOLE ON IT!

DSC00148

well i’m not saying that my batch did THAT GREAT back when i joined the band in high school.
even i could see that we were doing badly then, but thing is, we did our best.
but sad thing is, back then, there was TOOOOOO MUCH POLITICS going on around in the band’s committee board which was really unnecessary and childish that hindered band’s growth as a whole. and you can bet ur pants that there were too many biased groups back then, especially biased groups with the positions of power in the band.

sadder part is that problems within the band that existed then, still exists now in the current band committee members.
this should explain why STCO didn’t join this year’s State Marching Band Competition in Sibu.
ah well, i don’t give a flying frick anymore.

BUT LOOKIE WHO I SAW!
DSC00149
Marcus! a ex-band member like me, but back then, he was a junior and i a senior. he then climbed up to conduct the band after my band left. and yeah, he’s brandishing his own personal trumpet haha. i guess he still can’t let go of the band.

DSC00150Cikgu Janet who was the band’s advisor since before i even joined the band till now haha.

DSC00153Cikgu Ku Shi Lian LOL!!
Shi Lian’s actually one of my classmates back in Form 4 and 5.
she sat behind me, was utterly competitive in exams and now knows the hells of a high school’s afternoon session teacher + band advisor.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! all the best lol.

DSC00151and our very own Allison Chin who’s one of the members in my church i-Youth! clarinetist in band and vocalist under momo’s tutelage in Youth heh!
OPEN YOUR MOUTH BIGGER WHEN U SING PLS!

DSC00152
and i guess she’s got the hots for James coz she didn’t smile when she took that shot with me :(

i know there’s no use bad-mouthing STCO marching band anymore than what others have already been saying since the time i joined band.
and i’m not insinuating that my batch went as far as winning State Competitions (we never even got Top 3 for the past what? decade?)

let’s just say that if STCO Marching Band REALLY wants to improve,
they’d

               GET A MARCHING BAND COACH!!
stop the bitching and bad-mouthing amongst each other
               GET A MARCHING BAND COACH!!
change their uniforms that makes them (and also
once made me) look like they’re wearing pyjamas
               GET A MARCHING BAND COACH!!

and most importantly…

GET A MARCHING BAND COACH!!
i mean, even back then we WANTED to get a coach but
“school no money” :(
STCO better start coughing up money for this if the band’s ever gonna improve… at all.

Yao’s a bayonet bugger

me went, me saw, me likey!

I first met Yi Yao aka Ah Yao in National Service camp and he was my L7B, my barrack’s “room leader”. he basically had to overlook the members of our room getting to activities in time, make sure lights are out by 11, wake everyone up in time, make sure the barrack is nice and clean (or risk getting screwed over repeatedly by camp officials), and make sure everyone in the room had cut their hair 2 centimeters short whenever ordered to by the camp commander :(

met up with Ah Yao in Parkson a month or so ago heh.

DSC00116

but u have to hand it to the guy, having to go thru all that crap and put up with the complaints the people in camp throw around at each other. especially the times when shoes, clothes, socks, towels, water bottles, food, money, handphones, uniforms and the like go missing in our room. man, even underwear kena stolen ah!

AND YOU KNOW WHAT THIS BUGGER DID????????????
he purchased an AK 47 assault rifle bayonet from www.lelong.com lol!

DSC00117i was… awestruck lol

it’s in Michigan!!! and no, it’s not Ann Arbor k :)

Spring Arbor itself is a township of over 7,500 residents (that’s really little) and there are various other townships nearby. sounds like a out of nowhere place right? well yeah, it is actually. not really seeing myself having as much wild fun as i had back when i was in KL. but i’m REALLY looking forward to the travelling i’ll DEFINITELY be doing!
Miss Ng! we’ll meet in L.A. as promised!!
David Lin! try not to drown when we do meet up halfway in the middle of the Great Lakes haha.

super detailed!

Spring Arbor University was established in 1873 as a seminary of the Free Methodist Church and it later became a high school, followed by a junior college, then a college and finally a university on April 30 2001.
so maybe u could kinda say that this SAU is still kinda young as a university, 8 years niaaaa.
there’s only a 1% rate of asian students in SAU lol. but hey, i’m not complaining, confident in making friends :)

in SAU there’s…

a campus center area

where u can lie down on the nicely trimmed grass for a sun-tan, read books on a warm yet cloudy-cool day and chill :)

i get a good feel whenever i think abt this uni and i really hope with what God has in planned for me, that i may grow further in my education, social maturity, relationship affirmation, as well as my spiritual maturity.
the university itself also emphasizes on your individual spiritual growth thru chapel services and their CORE program (developed specifically into the curriculum to produce lifelong growth personally and spiritually)
